Opportunities

Partners For Progress depends on our devoted volunteers for countless hours assisting riders, caring for horses and equipment, helping at fundraising events and so much more. Each week our volunteers experience first hand the “little victories” that each individual achieves. It is with the guidance and encouragement of the volunteers that help our clients reach those victories.

Volunteers are the backbone of Partners For Progress. Without our volunteers we could not successfully provide our services to those with physical and mental disabilities. Just giving an hour or two of your time each week can make such a huge difference to so many. In the big picture of life, two hours a week is nothing when one realizes what those two hours can give. Watching someone with a disability become physically stronger, mentally able to better communicate emotions or emotionally improving self-confidence and self-esteem makes the time given a priceless gift to those disabled individuals.

Volunteers do not have to be horse experts to join the Partners For Progress family. If a volunteer brings the desire to help, we can teach them to accomplish almost anything!

Program/Facility/Event Volunteers

Mounted Lesson Volunteer

Horse Handlers lead the mounted horse in the arena with Sidewalkers and instructor.
Sidewalkers assist the rider with verbal or physical assistance as directed by the instructor during the session.

Ground Lesson Volunteer

This volunteer works with the instructor and client in non-mounted activities such as horse grooming, tack cleaning, crafts and other related learning projects.

Office Assistant

This individual makes photocopies, assembles mailings, files and assists with other specific projects as needed.

Equine Management Team

These volunteers assist our Equine Manager with the care and training of program horses.

Special Event Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to plan and organize events prior to the event day. They are also needed to work the day of the event.
