Karin Kepski

Karin graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with a Bachelor of Science in Anatomical Sciences and her Master of Health Science in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology from Governors State University.

Karin's career path was not always Speech-Language Pathology, but she got the horse bug at a very young age, competing in Speed Events and the High School Rodeo Team, as well as having close connections to special needs kids during High School. Early in her career, she was exposed to Therapeutic Riding, receiving her PATH Registered Instructor Certification, and Hippotherapy, receiving her Level 1 and 2 Hippotherapy Certifications via Cowboy Dreams and Bravehearts at the Bergmann Centre. Karin has been with Partners for Progress since 2013, where she received her Instructor of Riders with Disabilities Certification through the Certified Horsemanship Association.

Karin believes that each child she treats is a unique puzzle, never straightforward, and is always an opportunity to learn. This is why she is a strong advocate of Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy: it incorporates many systems of the body that a traditional setting is unable to replicate while treating the whole person.

A Quote:

"Each child is a unique puzzle—never straightforward, always an opportunity to learn. That’s why I believe so strongly in Hippotherapy. It incorporates many systems of the body that a traditional setting is unable to replicate while treating the whole person."
